The varied geological structure of the landscape in the area of Ji��n and Ralsko has created a number of splendid sandstone rock formations, accessible by walking paths. These mountains are often used by mountain climbers for training. On some volcano peaks there are medieval castles forming the dominant features of the landscape. The value of this region is underlined by its status as the Natural Reserve called BOHEMIAN PARADISE (120 sq. km). Prachov Rocks and the area of Hrub� Sk�la are among the best known rock formations. Not far from here, the town Ji��n is situated, which was declared a Town Reserve. There is a castle with a park there.
