The largest dam in Bohemia, built between 1950 and 1959. This is more than 40-km long, and 16 km wide. The dam is 22 meters high with a water power plant. The lake covers an area of 4,870 hectares. On the left bank of the lake there are popular holiday resorts and camping sites and the lake itself is used for various water sports.
