Castle Kivoklt
30 km from Prague
is another exceptionally attractive tourist goal in the Prague neighbourhood. It is situated in the midst of an extensive forest area which forms one of the four Czech biospherical conservation areas included in UNESCO ecological programme "Man and Biosphere". Kivoklt, originally a small hunting castle first mentioned in written records in the year 1110, acquired its Late-Gothic image at the end of the 15th century. The castle chapel ranks among the most valuable medieval interiors preserved in the Czech Republic and very remarkable is also the exhibition of Late-Gothic statues and paintings installed in the Great Hall of the Royal Palace.
