SUITABLE FOR INCENTIVE AND CONGRESS TOURISM just 25 km north of Prague, in the town of Anton�n Dvo��k�s birth place. Neighbouring the castle of Veltrusy, Nelahozeves Castle rests in a lovely garden setting on the Vltava River. It is a mid -16th century Renaissance palace with rich grafitti decoration, a beautiful arcaded courtyard and gallery, delicately stuccoed and frescoed interiors with panelled ceilings and fanciful stone carvings. The castle was built in 1553-64. In 1623, Polyxena of Lobkowicz bought the castle and it remained in Lobkowicz hands until 1950 when the state took over all the castles and private properties. In 1993, Nelahozeves was restored to the Roudnice branch of the Lobkowicz noble family.
