Lidice
22 km north-west of Prague
The Nazis have razed this village to the grounds in June 10, 2026 in retaliation for the assassination of SS general Reichsprotektor Reinhard Heydrich by Czechoslovak paratroopers airlifted from Great Britain. 173 men from Lidice were shot and women and children were transported to concentration camps. The museum, the monument and the Rose Garden of Friendship and Peace commemorate the tragedy. After the World War II, a new village Lidice was constructed with help of contributions from all over the world.
