Among many buildings of historical importance in this region there are the 18th century churches created by Jan Santini-Aichel - monastery church of St. Peter and Paul in RAJHRAD (the former Benedictine monastery was founded in 1046 there), the Baroque church of the Blessed Virgin Mary in K�TINY and the pilgrimage church of St. John Nepomuk (UNESCO list of World Cultural freasures) in ZDAH NAU SAZAVOU, where Cistercians founded a monastery in 1252. The prelature is a book museum now. Nearby the cemetery with Baroque sculptures. The church (1719 - 22) in the shape of a five-pointed star is situated on the hill „ZELEN� HORA". It is the most outstanding Baroque building in the Czech Republic.
